Well that is what happened for the first time ever that I can remember at Nanaimo park. We had to cancel Opening Ceremonies & we were so sad to do it. Our 60 years celebrations were postponed.

The North Diamond behind the concession building was flooded for almost two weeks before we could play games on that diamond.

So because of the bad start to the baseball season, the Vancouver Minor Baseball board decided not to have opening ceremonies for 2017. Instead we will give even more effort to the closing ceremonies & try to get our dignitaries to come out then. So join Charlie brown in a good cry for the opening ceremonies that never happened at Nanaimo park this year. Anyhow, the rain finally lifted a rainbow came out & the games went on.

The next VMBA event is Family Day -- Come get your team pictures taken & take a turn in the bouncy castle, or color a picture at the coloring table. You will also be able to throw your toonies down & win a prize at the Toonie Toss, in our batting cage. Look to our website for more details.

See you then!!!
